By longstanding custom, the Congress opens with a solemn Mass in Latin (novus ordo). This Mass will be celebrated on Sunday, July 17, at 6:00 pm at St. Francis Xavier (College) Church, on the campus of Saint Louis University. His Excellency, Thomas John Paprocki, bishop of Springfield in Illinois, will preside. A reception will follow in the Cupples House on SLU’s campus.
